All Current BMW Models Offer In-Vehicle Payment for Parking Fees and Fuel: A Convenient and Safe Option

BMW and Parkopedia have announced the launch of their Refueling Payments and Parking Payments services in Germany for vehicles with BMW Operating System 7, 8, 8.5 and 9. The services will initially be available at participating fuel stations and will provide customers with a convenient and seamless way to pay for their fuel and parking fees.

According to the announcement made on Tuesday 3 September, 2024, these services will be rolled out to over 500,000 customers in Germany. The services will also feature a Single Sign-On functionality, allowing drivers to access multiple merchants through one login.

Customers with vehicles equipped with the BMW Operating System 7 will also be able to use these services in the coming weeks, in addition to those with OS 8, 8.5 and 9. This will make it easier for drivers to pay for parking and fueling, eliminating the need for multiple logins or payment methods.

The process for using these services is simple and intuitive. Drivers can easily find participating petrol stations through the “Search petrol station” tile in the BMW Maps app. The service also provides real-time notifications and updates, making it easier for drivers to know when their payment has been processed and when they can continue their journey.

In addition, BMW customers can also pay for parking fees directly from their vehicle across 12 European countries, with more to be added in the future. This will make parking in metered zones more convenient and hassle-free.

To use these services, customers need to log in with their BMW ID and activate the “Parking Payments” and “Refueling Payments” services. They can also store their payment method through a QR code displayed on the central screen in the vehicle.

The BMW Group is working with Parkopedia to provide and expand these services, making it easier for drivers to pay for fuel and parking. Parkopedia is a leading connected car services provider, used by automakers, organizations, and millions of drivers around the world.
