The internationally renowned Peasmarsh Chamber Music Festival is set to return this summer to celebrate its 25th anniversary. With no fewer than nine concerts over four days, audiences will be treated to a magical long weekend of performances by world class artists, performed in beautiful historic churches.
The festival will feature an impressive roster of award winning artists such as the Valo Quartet, pianists Aleksandar Madžar and Stefan Cassomenos, celebrated actor Samuel West, and world class Britten Sinfonia. The programme will include masterpieces of the chamber music repertoire both new and old, from composers such as Haydn, Mozart, Beethoven, Schubert, Schumann, Dvořák, Brahms, Rameau, Saint-Saens, Ravel, Thomas Adès and Schoenberg.
In addition, the festival will host a major education project with five local schools, with 150 participants from primary schools in Rye, Peasmarsh, Beckley, Icklesham and Winchelsea set to perform their compositions in St Mary’s Rye on Friday 23rd June.
Artistic Directors Anthony Marwood MBE and Richard Lester have once again curated an inspiring programme, with Sir David Hare commenting that ‘Peasmarsh, in late June, is a magical festival’.
