2023 Business Book of the Year Award Goes to Leader As Healer

Last Updated on: 22nd November 2023, 10:09 am

Last night, the Business Book of the Year Award 2023 was awarded to Leader As Healer, written by leadership development expert Nicholas Janni and published by LID Publishing. The book was selected as the overall winner by the Business Book Awards Head Judge, Jacq Burns, from over 300 nominated books and more than 100 shortlisted titles. Burns praised Janni’s writing as “a transformational read that every leader of today needs.”

The book argues that a serious upgrade to how managers think and practice leadership is needed in the current post-pandemic world. Leaders must be empathetic, intuitive, present, and skilled in mindfulness, deep listening, and inspiring colleagues to engage and collaborate.

Upon winning the award, Janni said: “I am deeply honoured to receive this award. And I take it as a very strong affirmation of the work of Healing and Awakening that more and more of us are bringing to the corporate world and beyond. The world is terribly broken. We urgently need leaders who embody deep, soulful, heartfelt Presence – bringing service to the greater whole as their primary commitment.”

Martin Liu, COO & Publisher of LID Publishing, expressed his joy for Janni’s achievement and the importance of his work. “This award demonstrates the importance of Nicholas’ work and thinking, and why it is highly relevant to today’s managers and leaders.”

The win comes as LID celebrates its 30th anniversary this year. Since 1993, LID has been dedicated to sharing knowledge with the business world and operates from six countries around the globe with hundreds of thought leaders.

Nicholas Janni has gained an international reputation in the past 20 years for his transformational coaching and leadership development programmes. He also teaches at Oxford University and the IMD Business School.
