Tech company SocialBoxBiz marked its ten-year anniversary on Tuesday, February 13, 2024, with a call to UK businesses to donate their old but still functional laptops to help refugees and people experiencing homelessness.
In the past decade, SocialBoxBiz has achieved significant success with its Laptops for Homeless program, which has expanded to also support older people living in isolation and refugees integrating into British society. However, the company recognizes that there is still much work to be done in addressing the digital divide and providing access to technology for underprivileged individuals. Through partnerships with various organizations, SocialBoxBiz has identified specific groups that are particularly at risk of not having access to a laptop, a fact that is supported by research and data from other organizations.
“We are proud of the progress we have made over the past ten years, but we are always looking for new partners to help us continue our mission of making a positive impact on the lives of vulnerable individuals,” said a spokesperson for SocialBoxBiz. “Each new partnership brings us one step closer to closing the digital divide and providing opportunities for those in need.”
To celebrate its ten-year milestone, SocialBoxBiz is encouraging the public to retweet their announcement on Twitter, which can be found on their page @SocialBoxBiz.
